Life for teenagers is not always easy. For LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, and Transgender) youth in Russia it has been a real struggle for survival since Putin's 'anti-gay law' of 2013. Parents, teachers and psychologists do not offer a safe haven for these young people: they even risk a fine if they offer them a helping hand. Children 404 is an online platform where teenagers can tell their story. Using anonymous interviews and video diaries, the film shows Children 404 the systematic discrimination, misunderstanding and humiliation faced by young gays and lesbians.
Movies that Matter On Tour will bring the film, in combination with an introduction or discussion in December, to movie theaters throughout the Netherlands.
