Everyone is welcome at the Rijswijkse Schouwburg!

A very normal message, right?! That is precisely why the Rijswijkse Schouwburg will open its doors on 11 October – during the National Come Out of the Closet Day – to discuss inclusiveness with residents and authorities of Rijswijk. A day where it's about connection, an open conversation and a pleasant evening in our theater. We are making this day extra special this year, because the proceeds of the evening will fully benefit the John Blankenstein Foundation and the COC Haaglanden.

We would like to invite you to attend! What can you expect this evening?

From 19 p.m. you are welcome in the theater where you will be welcomed with a snack and drink.

Om 20 p.m. the Rijswijkse Schouwburg receives the new alderman for emancipation, Mr Van Malsem, in the Great Hall. He will talk to Beau, a volunteer of the John Blankenstein Foundation. Beau shares her story about how she came out. Afterwards there is a preview of the performance Boys won't be Boys*; this performance will be on stage in the theater on 11 October 2023 – next year.

After the preview we will show the movie Mario. A 2018 Swiss romantic film drama about the love between two promising football players who must choose whether to keep their relationship and sexual orientation a secret so as not to damage their football career.

How do you participate?

By purchasing a ticket for the film, you automatically receive access to the support act. Because we think it is important that everyone has the opportunity to attend, you can decide for yourself whether and how much you pay for this evening, with the entire proceeds being donated to the charity of the evening. Please confirm your presence via the button below.

Do you know someone who also wants to be present this evening? Feel free to forward this invitation. We would love to meet you!
