The GSA flag is based on the rainbow flag. The rainbow flag was designed in 1978 in San Francisco by Gilbert Baker and is used worldwide to signify an embrace of gender, gender and sexual diversity. Symbolically, red stands for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for strength.
