The Naaldwijk catering company De Nachtburgemeester will continue as the first gay bar in Westland from Friday evening 17 June. Dragqueen DeeDee Janssens will festively open the Naaldwijk bar at 21.00 pm. The bar will focus on all LGBT people (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders), people who feel connected to them or who like to party in a cozy Amsterdam atmosphere. Everyone is welcome, whoever or whatever you are.
“We think it's important that everyone feels welcome. There are also LGBT people in Westland, even if we sometimes don't think so," says owner Daniel van der Sande. “In addition, in many gay bars you also see a lot of heterosexuals who just think it's a cozy atmosphere. We want to create that here too.” Consultations are also taking place with COC Haaglanden to organize information evenings in Westland about LGBT people.
De Nachtburgemeester is open every Thursday to Sunday for dinner and afterwards a pleasant party evening. The terrace, on Wilhelminaplein, will also remain open.
