The first national Pink Elderly Day will take place on Monday 27 July 2015. The start of the day is at 16.00 pm with a music spectacle in the OBA Theater, Oosterdokskade 143 in Amsterdam. The Pink Elderly Day is part of Senior Pride – a week-long activities for pink seniors during the Amsterdam Gay Pride.

Party for young and old
The Music Spectacle in the OBA Theater is the opening of Senior Pride, organized by Roze 50+, the partnership of ANBO and COC Netherlands.

In addition to a substantive program in which the Amsterdam pink care is central – there are already 18 care institutions in Amsterdam with a Roze Loper, the certificate for LGBT-friendly care – this afternoon is dominated by music. The CD and DVD of the recently held music spectacle in the context of the International Day against Gay/Bi/Transphobia (IDAHOT) are handed over to Deputy Mayor Eric van der Burg of Amsterdam.

Afterwards there will be a performance by the artists Harald Veenstra, Dolly Bellefleur and Kees van Zantwijk, Rolf van Rijsbergen, Duo Wilde Orchidee, Tom de Jong and Dorka & Wessels with beautiful pink songs. They are accompanied by a combo led by Maurice Rugebregt.

This performance is a celebration for young and old, for the entire LGBT community and its allies. Afterwards there will be a Meet & Greet with all the artists in the foyer, made possible in part by COC's Bob Angelo Fund.

The music spectacle starts at 16 p.m. and is free of charge. Sign up via www.oba.nl/activity or via 020-523 09 00. The CD and DVD of this spectacle can be purchased from the same date via the webshop op www.roze50plus.nl and of course during the music spectacle itself.

Senior Pride – full of activities
This year the Senior Pride will be held again during the Amsterdam Gay Pride. The week is full of activities in the Amsterdam care institutions Amsta, Amstelring and Cordaan, the Senior Pride street party on Thursday at the Paleis van de Weemoed and the Pink Brunch on Friday.

Find the entire agenda on the Amsterdam Gay Pride site www.pride.amsterdam under the button 'event calendar' and 'Senior Pride'.

Boat parade
This year Roze 50+ will once again be sailing along with the boat parade during Amsterdam Gay Pride on Saturday 1 August. A boat with about eighty lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight elderly people. The theme of Gay Pride 2015 is 'Share'. For Roze 50+ it's about sharing the stories of pink elderly, so that our history is not forgotten. Stories in words and images, such as the life stories of pink elderly in the book 'Stormacht Stil' by Eveline van de Putte.

Pink 50+ is a partnership of ANBO and COC Netherlands to support pink seniors by improving their living situation and promoting good psychological and physical health. This is done, among other things, through the Roze Loper tolerance scan for (elderly) care institutions, the deployment of pink ambassadors, an own community platforms and making the group visible.
