THE HAGUE – The Municipality of The Hague has won the Workplace Pride Leadership Award. This is an international prize awarded to individuals or organizations that are committed to the emancipation of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders in the workplace.

The award was presented during the annual Workplace Pride conference, which was held in The Hague this year. Alderman Rabin Baldewsingh of Personnel and Organization is proud of the award. 'We remain committed to diversity in the workplace.'

On October 11, 2013, a large number of civil servants, their directors and residents of The Hague and passers-by literally 'come out' along the Hofvijver. 'We drew attention to the importance of a safe workplace for everyone, regardless of sexual preference. That's how we set a record, and now we're also being rewarded with this prize', says Baldewsingh.
