The board of the International Homomonument The Hague Foundation and COC Haaglanden is deeply shocked by the horrific drama of the massacre of the LGBT community in Orlando.

After the report of the drama, the foundation and COC Haaglanden have set up 3 flags at half-mast at the monument, namely the American flag, the Rainbow flag as an international symbol of all LGBT people and the flag of the city of The Hague, City of Justice and Peace. .

Our horror and sadness is shared with many, also in our city The Hague. After an appeal on social media, more than 20 people gathered at the monument at 00 p.m. Monday to express their feelings and protest against the violence against LGBT people in America, but also everywhere else.

After a short speech by the chairman of the International Gay Monument Foundation in The Hague, those present observed a 2-minute silence in memory of the 49 victims.
