Café Utopie, Waldeck Pyrmontkade 116 (stop line 3 Elandstraat)

Start: 18.30 pm, walk-in from 18.00 pm (free and free entrance including a cup of soup)

Why are we still talking about gender diversity?
Because it chafes in society?

Questions still need to be answered about which sexual category you belong to. As if every person fits exactly in a certain box! There was a big fuss when Nikkie de Jager, known for her videos about makeup and lifestyle through her NikkieTutorials, came out about her transition.

LGBTQI+ as a cryptic description of gender diversity. What is that anyway?

Formulated in a polarizing way: heterosexuals on the one hand and the rest, namely all other forms of sexuality, on the other. This while there is great diversity within the various groups. In short: humanity is a fluid continuum of the most diverse forms of sexuality.

Research shows that LGBTQI+ people still have to deal with discriminatory physical or verbal violence and that the willingness of victims to report is low. The position on the labor market is also bad: disability and unemployment rates are higher than average.

Guest speaker is Mrs. Döne Fil, social entrepreneur in Amsterdam and LGBTQI activist.

She will discuss the position of LGBTQI+ people. Afterwards, as always, there is an opportunity to ask questions and to exchange ideas about the subject, whether or not on the basis of one's own (in)direct experiences.
