Hockey association Westland is experiencing a first. The club will open a so-called 'rainbow field' on Saturday 16 April 2022. HV Westland is therefore the first sports club in the Netherlands with such a field.
“In the sports world it still appears to be difficult to come out if you belong to the LGBTI+ group. In recent years, sports federations and clubs have been increasingly concerned with sexual diversity. HV Westland is one of the forerunners in this regard,” it sounds.
That is why it is all the more important that a clear signal is sent: everyone is welcome to play sports, in freedom and visibility.

The field will be festively opened with chairman Marion Tahapary and Maaike Frankena!
