May 17 is International Day Against Gay, Lesbo, Bi, Trans and Intersex Phobia. (IDAHOT) Worldwide, on or around that date, attention is being drawn to the social undesirability of discrimination and violence on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, expression or sex characteristics and sexual and gender diversity is celebrated.

The date of May 17 is prompted by the fact that on that day in 1990 the World Health Organization (WHO) officially removed homosexuality from the internationally used list of diseases, the International Classification of Diseases. That will be 30 years ago next Sunday.

Due to the corona crisis, there are online activities. www.idahot.nl
