1.   What is your name and age?

My name is Inge and I am 63 years old.

2.   What does COC Haaglanden mean to you?

COC Haaglanden feels like home. Even if you haven't been for a while, it always feels like coming home to both new and familiar faces.

3.   How long have you been involved with COC Haaglanden?

I've been involved in this for years! After the corona period I became a more active member; Previously I came sporadically. This year I started as a cook on Wednesday evenings.

4.   Where does your passion for cooking come from?

I've had that passion all my life. I used to cook in community centers. What I like about cooking here is the collaboration. We really are a team.

5.   What does Wednesday evening look like?

On Sundays I often think about what we are going to cook and order the groceries. On Wednesdays I will be absent from 12 noon to receive the groceries. Then we make time for a chat and lunch. We start cooking from 15.00 p.m. Every Wednesday there are 25 to 30 people present, consisting of a permanent group and always new faces. It's getting busier, so registering is becoming increasingly important.

6.   If you could be anything, what would you choose?

I would like to become the first female Prime Minister of the Netherlands! My drive is to ensure that the country becomes more social.

7.   What do you hope will no longer exist in 20 years?

Schools based on religion. In this way, as a child you learn that others are different, and not only different, but also inferior. I think Finland is a good example of how it can be done.

8.   What are you most proud of about yourself?

That I'm super stubborn. I do what I want. If everyone goes to the left and I like the right better, then I go to the right!

9.   Who do you want to pass the baton to?

To my kitchen colleague Albertine!
