We are shocked by the recent defacement of the Homomonument at Koekamp in The Hague. This act is a painful reminder of the growing intolerance we see, both online and in public spaces.

The board of the International Homomonument Foundation and COC Haaglanden emphasizes the importance of continued efforts for acceptance. Tolerance is not self-evident for everyone, as this repeated defacement shows. We call for a joint stand against intolerance and hatred. Let us unite in the pursuit of a society where acceptance and diversity are celebrated.

It is imperative that we do not tolerate these incidents and continue to fight for an inclusive and loving community for all.
