The three South Holland COCs organize joint election debate

The Hague – February 12, 2019: In the run-up to the Provincial Council elections, the three South Holland COCs are organizing the Pink Election Debate of South Holland. On Friday 1 March, representatives of various political parties will debate various pink topics in Dudok in The Hague.

“Volunteers from COC Haaglanden, COC Leiden and COC Rotterdam Rijnmond work together in a unique way for this event. With this debate, they demonstrate the great importance of the Provincial Council elections. The newly elected Members of Parliament will elect the Senate in May and this way these elections will also influence national politics," said Bernard Schendstok of the Political Workgroup of COC Haaglanden.

During the Pink Election Debate, politicians will talk to each other and to the public present. This is based on statements about topics related to the position of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and intersex people (LGBTI). The province of South Holland is a rainbow province, but how will the future members of parliament commit themselves to the position of LGBTI's in our province? What does the status 'Rainbow Province' mean?

The volunteers of the three COCs invite you to continue talking with a drink afterwards.

Date: Friday, March 1, 2019
Time: 20:00 PM to 21:30 PM. Entry from 19:30.
Location: Dudok – Hofweg 1A, 2511 AA The Hague

We wish you a warm welcome on Friday 1 March.
