Orlando (17) was found lifeless in the water of the Blauwe Loper at the end of February. A week earlier, he had a date with a 27-year-old resident of The Hague who stated that he saw Orlando in the water after the date, calling for help, but did not take any action. He was in custody for three days, but was released. The resident of The Hague is still a suspect and the police investigation is still ongoing.

In memory of Orlando Boldewijn we will walk a Silent Tour on Saturday evening 7 July 2018.

We gather around 18:00 PM at the War Memorial on the Blauwe Loper in Ypenburg. At 18:30 PM there will be some speakers and appropriate music.

As the final speaker, a good friend of Orlando's mother will read an 'open letter'. This one was written especially for the Silent Journey by Orlando's uncle, Wesley Zippro.

Around 19:30 we walk from the War Memorial over the Bottgerwater towards the Bitterzoetpad to lay flowers at “Orlando's tree”. After a moment of silence we will walk back together towards the starting point.

It would be nice if everyone would bring one or more yellow flowers in memory. Orlando's favorite was a yellow rose…
