Everyone in Leidschendam-Voorburg wants to grow old safely, happily and healthy. Yet many people do not dare to be themselves. Because they are afraid of being excluded or bullied. Pink elderly in particular feel lonely and unheard. It is not always obvious to them that they have a network of family and friends around them.

Eveline Van de Putte, author of, among other things, the book Stormachtig Stil, will discuss this with residents and professionals. She uses the life stories of pink and transgender elderly people to discuss sexual and gender diversity. She does this together with pink older Magda Romgens. After that, Ilse Volkstedt from COC Haaglanden and Iohanna Sandu from Foundation for Inclusion & Anti-Discrimination short workshops on what residents and professionals can do to support pink elderly and prevent exclusion.

The meeting is not only serious, but also full of humor due to the performance of Victoria False. Victoria started out as Bette Midler, sang Edith Piaf in the parks of Paris and won the Eurosongtravestival three times.

It will be a beautiful afternoon full of stories of desire, courage, love and finally being able to be yourself, interspersed with beautiful songs.

This meeting is organized by Duivenvoorde Foundation, COC Haaglanden en Foundation for Inclusion & Anti-Discrimination and is financially made possible by the Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg.
