There are homosexual, 'pink' elderly people who do not dare to be themselves in their own living environment. This is partly due to ignorance and misunderstanding, also among peers. The Tour d'Amour project draws attention to this with the help of the book 'Stormacht Stil, life stories of pink elderly'. The tour starts on Friday, May 29.
Until the end of 2015, various meetings on this subject will be organized in the institutions of care organizations in The Hague. They always read from the book Stormy Quiet. Author Eveline van de Putte also engages in a conversation with those present, sometimes supported by a pink elder who tells from her own experience. The aim is to remove taboos and ignorance surrounding the pink elderly by entering into a dialogue with (voluntary) employees, interns from care and residents of the institutions.
Start
The first meeting will be on Friday 29 May, from 14.00:17.00 pm to XNUMX:XNUMX pm in Nursing Home De Eshoeve. In addition to people from the institution, interested local residents are also welcome.
