Queer (LHBTQI+) young people face additional challenges; negative reactions, exclusion, bullying, hatred and violence are unfortunately common. This makes them vulnerable to developing mental health problems and suicidality. Because queer young people run an increased risk of developing psychological problems and it is surprising how little attention is paid to this specific risk group, Youz Preventie Haaglanden is conducting preventive group training especially for LGBTQI+ young people in a pilot this autumn, together with COC Haaglanden.

The group training ACT your way Queer is intended for queer young people (16-25 years) from The Hague with mild psychological complaints and struggles regarding their gender or sexuality. Referrers, parents or young people can register themselves, by sending an email to preventionhaaglanden@youz.nl. We will then schedule an introductory meeting and discuss together whether the training is appropriate for the request for help. No referral is needed and the training is free.
