On 14 June 2022, the COC Haaglanden will organize the presentation of the John Blankenstein Prize for the thirteenth time. The namesake was one of the first openly gay referees in professional football.

In the Laaktheater, Alderman Arjen Kapteijns will present the prize to a person or institution that has meant a lot to the queer community. Because Corona could not take place in 2021, both the winners of 2021 and 2022 will be announced this year. Visitors are welcome from 18.30pm.

The jury led by Karin Blankenstein has announced the following nominees:

* Eveline van de Putten, for her performance 'Tour d'Amour' about pink elderly
* Hindustani and Queer for their efforts to make queer Hindustani visible within and outside the LGBTIQ+ community
* Sandra Khouw for her activities for lhbtiq+ women through The L World Foundation!

And with special mention:
* Leon van Gelooven who sadly passed away during the jury deliberation period and has spent many years working for queer people with intellectual disabilities
