Two faiths on one pillow, the devil sleeps between them. An outdated saying because this year for the first time a 'One Religion Boat' will sail along during the Gay Pride in Amsterdam.
It is an initiative of Barbara Rogoski, who is involved with the International Pink Church in The Hague. The organizers hope for a 'joyful religious gathering' with followers of different faiths such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.
They want to spread the message 'that religious LGBT people are also an important part of God's family.' In addition to activists, religious leaders who are gay or gay-friendly are also welcome. Members of the various faith communities can also sail along. Names have not yet been announced.
De Canal Parade is on Saturday 6 August this year.
