The municipal elections of 19 March 2014 are important for all residents of the municipality. Young and old, big and small, gay and straight. With this in mind, COC Haaglanden and DWH Delft are organizing election debates in six municipalities in the region.

During the debates, politicians are questioned about their party program and their positions, or lack thereof, on policies aimed at improving the position of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgenders.

The series of debates starts on February 22 in Westland. This is followed by Pijnacker-Nootdorp (February 26), The Hague (February 27), Wassenaar (2 March) and Delft (8 March). The last debate is on March 13 in Zoetermeer.

Anyone who would like to hear what the political parties in Haaglanden think about information in education, safety, accessibility of sports clubs or municipal policy on the elderly is most welcome. Admission to the debates is free.

COC and DWH offer even more information to interested voters. Soon they will publish an overview of the positions of all political parties, including those of Leidschendam-Voorburg, Midden-Delfland and Rijswijk, on their websites of each municipality.
