Instead of the commemoration at the International Gay Monument in The Hague, video messages were shared on 4 May in the morning. Each with a personal interpretation, attention was paid to 75 years of Freedom The Hague 2020 by: art expert Frans Leidelmeijer, alderman Bert van Alphen (The Hague), Bidjai Jagroep of the Vobis Foundation, Anysha Bharos of The Hang-Out 070 and Peter Scheffer of COC Haaglanden. The videos were made public on 4 May and will remain accessible throughout the day.

Of course, together with all of you, we hope that the commemoration can take place again at the monument next year. In this difficult time it is more important than ever that we as an LGBTI community support and respect each other. Let us also keep in our hearts all oppressed and persecuted people elsewhere in the world. And cherish our own freedoms, thanks to all the people who fought for them in the past or who still do!
