On Valentine's Day (on Friday 14 February), the Pink Team of the PvdA The Hague, COC Haaglanden, GroenLinks The Hague and the Party for the Animals will organize a Valentines Kiss-in at the Russian Consulate in The Hague. As many gay, lesbian and straight couples as possible will send a kiss to the Russian government. Be there! With the pink kiss party we want to protest in a loving way against President Putin's controversial gay law.

Organizer Wouter Booij has already found twenty boys and girls who want to participate in the so-called kiss-in. The pink resident of The Hague hopes that dozens more people will make time to come to the consular section of the Russian diplomatic post around half past one next Friday.

The action is for everyone. Interest groups and other political parties are invited to participate. Everyone is welcome. It is about the signal we want to send out: tolerance and safety for LGBT people.

But the tolerance and safety of so-called LGBT people can also be improved in The Hague and the Netherlands. And we also draw attention to that.

We want to show the Russian representation that in addition to our overwhelming skating performance at the Olympic Games in Sochi, they can also learn something from our pink freedom. It really should be the feast of love.

As a candidate councilor for the PvdA, he also tries to persuade his party members to leave the roses for a while and participate in the cheerful kissing party.

“It really should be a celebration of love. There is also a lot to improve in The Hague itself. Especially at some secondary schools, MBO institutions and universities of applied sciences, it is by no means always a normal topic to talk about.”

Non kissers are also very welcome! There is, among other things, the possibility of portrait kisses with Ireen Wust and Sven Kramer.
