The national Pink Saturday, officially part of the celebration of 300 years of the Peace of Utrecht, will take place in Utrecht on 29 June. Although this annual event once started as a demonstration for equal rights for homosexuals, today it is much more in the nature of meeting and relaxation. The Pink Saturday 2013 Utrecht (RZ2013) will thus become a party where everyone is welcome: a mentality that completely suits Utrecht!

Diversity with five stages

A diverse audience with a diverse music taste, that was taken into account during RZ2013. The party starts on Friday evening at the PANN Mainstage on Domplein and, in addition to the official acts, there are also various performances (Sharon Doorson, T-Spoon, Niels Geusebroek) and DJs on Saturday. The Lief Festival Stage on the Neude is “the place to be” for everyone who loves dance music. And on the square behind the City Hall, a Dutch Hits Stage is being built, in collaboration with Bingo FM. Students are also well represented during RZ2013 on the Student Stage, which can be found on the Janskerkhof. Next to the Lucasbolwerk is the Infostage, an interactive information market with a stage for various acts and speakers, including MPs Mona Keijzer (CDA) and Linda Voorman (GL).

Culture, Religion & Diversity

In addition to a lot of celebration, the other side of Pink Saturday is also not forgotten. Finally, both in the Netherlands and abroad, there are still many people who cannot freely express their sexual orientation. Various activities, performances, films and lectures take place on and around Pink Saturday that provide insight into the various aspects of 'pink' existence. The Pink Saturday is traditionally opened with an ecumenical church service, this year in nothing less than the Dom Church.

From football to squash

While the moment of reflection is taking place in the Dom Church, a lively battle erupts at Sports Center Olympos. The sports program of RZ2013 will be opened in the morning by none other than Minister Schippers of Health, Welfare and Sport together with KNVB chairman Van Praag and offers the opportunity to compete with each other in various sports areas. There is, for example, a football tournament, a volleyball tournament, various running competitions and you can play squash and tennis.

Enjoy small

The presence of a Culinary Square at the Jacobskerkhof emphasizes the very broad program of this Pink Saturday. Anyone who likes good food for an affordable price will love this place. And even the littlest ones are taken into account on this day. Park Lepelenburg has a Kids Area where children are treated to an extensive program.

Just come

In short, it is a day on which everyone is welcome in Utrecht, regardless of origin or orientation. As it should! Pink Saturday 2013 is organized by the Pink Saturday Foundation and initiated by the PANN Foundation and the municipality of Utrecht.

Just come!
