On November 30, 11 coordinators and board members spent an entire afternoon focusing on behavior and manners within our association and in our building. Two confidential advisers helped those present to gain insight into this and to increase their knowledge. We also learned to understand each other a little better. Our goal is a diverse and inclusive LGBTI community, working together towards our goals of social acceptance and equal rights and opportunities. In the past period, our approximately 100 volunteers from the LGBTI community have worked hard on more than 1.000 activities that our association organizes every year. An even larger group participates in those activities. COC Haaglanden wants all these people to feel welcome and safe with us and to act responsibly towards each other. We have a code of conduct that everyone must adhere to. We expressly bring these to the attention and do so through training, among other things. But also by discussing this with each other. In the coming period, our entire organization will continue to work on this subject. The willingness to participate in training courses on this subject is something we expect in principle from all our volunteers, including board members, but also from our employees. The first fruits have already been reaped due to an increasingly pleasant mutual atmosphere. We measure this, among other things, by the positive reactions of (new) volunteers.
