In Leidschendam-Voorburg everyone can be who they are. Alderman Rozenberg will hoist under that motto on Saturday 10 October, during national Coming Out Day. The waving rainbow flag also marks the start of the record attempt 'come out of the closet' at 42 Herenstraat: everyone who believes that the acceptance of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (GLBT) should be the most normal thing in the world , can show that by coming out of the special rainbow closet. Lady Charity was asked to perform for the presentation of the festive morning. The municipality reports this in a press release.

Coming Out Day
It is important that everyone can be themselves. Research has shown that this group – even in the Netherlands – does not always feel safe and accepted. The Municipal Executive of Leidschendam-Voorburg has therefore included the GLBT policy as one of the important topics in the coalition agreement and is actively working on it.

Also on this Coming Out-Day (freely translated: Come-Out-The-Closet-Day). On this day, worldwide attention is drawn to the position of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders. The municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg has joined forces with Sport en Welzijn and COC Haaglanden for this. With a colorful and creative program in the Herenstraat 42 in Voorburg (front of the former town hall), we draw attention to the Coming Out Day.

Saturday 10 October
During this Coming Out Day, shoppers can 'come out' through a cabinet painted in rainbow colors especially for the occasion. The youth has also been thought of: there are performances by the dance groups Weird Girls and Livendance and children can do crafts and paint in rainbow colours. The party is musically framed by the beats of DJ Doriano.
