Next Sunday, October 11, is Coming Out day. On this day, attention is paid to the moment when an LGBTI person openly reveals his or her sexual orientation or gender identity.

Together with the Municipality of The Hague, Rainbow Foundation and The Hang-Out 070, COC Haaglanden is organizing a number of activities around Coming Out day on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.

In the documentary TransOther by Kim Bakker from 2015, middle-aged crossdressers and transgenders from Amsterdam and the surrounding area talk candidly about living with a secret. About doubt and self-acceptance, about making sacrifices and liberation after coming out, about their social role and inner experience of their gender identity. The documentary won the audience award for short film during the TranScreen Film Festival 2015.

20:00 Yoniverse

Healing hip-hop for black, queer bitches

An intimate cleansing ritual takes place in an alternate universe. Be here rhymes healing spells, purple mist is cleansing for the YONI and all trauma and negative vibrations are shaken away from the center of the body.

Yoniversal healing is needed!

Cherella Gessel lives at the intersection of Afro-Caribbean, female and queer. This regularly creates inner conflicts in the western, patriarchal, capitalist, heteronormative, racist society in which we live. We see how Cherella goes looking for healing and balance for themselves, together with like-minded people.
